To enable the student to gain experience of completing a substantial piece of research work to professional standards using some of the knowledge gained during the third semester.

Learning Teaching & Assessment Strategy:
Individual project work with ongoing feedback from project supervisor. A viva is normally held. Although it has no independent weight, it is used to assist in confirming the mark assigned for the dissertation. Students taking supplementary assessment will be required to repair deficiencies in the original submission.

Outline Syllabus:
This will be the continuation of the research work carried out in CM-0402T. A research report will be written by the student and will be submitted by the end of the third semester. A complete literature review, simulation and experimental work is expected in the report.
