To provide you with an advanced understanding of issues related to research methodologies that will facilitate the development of students` ability to identify and utilise appropriate methodological and theoretical frameworks to support and manage their project work.

Learning Teaching & Assessment Strategy:
This module is delivered through staff led and peer group learning which combines seminars and group tutorials to allow the exploration of different approaches to research and their suitability to different subject areas and discussion of particular research projects through case studies (LO1a,1b,2a,2b). The learning outcomes will be demonstrated through the preparation and presentation of a research paper and a project proposal, including details of the chosen project management methodology (LO1a,1b,2a,2b,3a,3b). Supplementary assessment will be to repair deficiencies in original submission.

(a) display a mastery in your ability to identify and evaluate methodologies and frameworks appropriate to your individual project proposal through the preparation of the research paper and the development of the project proposal; (b) select and implement appropriate strategies for project management in the project proposal.

On successful completion of this module you will be able to...

(a) deploy enhanced ability to articulate in a lucid, articulate and analytical manner the rationale for proposed approaches in their written assignments and presentation; (b) enhance time management, negotiation, written communication and presentation skills.
