Outline Syllabus:
The development of solutions to representative practical problems in healthcare technology. These should be chosen to demonstrate selected factors influencing the development and implementation of the solutions to such problems in a group-based context, thereby simulating standard industrial procedure. These factors include: resource availability, sustainability, energy considerations, fabrication, durability, life cycle costs, serviceability, structural form, materials science, health and safety, maintenance, economy, and cash flow considerations. The problems selected should be such that the most appropriate solution can be obtained based on knowledge gained during the course, together with additional knowledge, information, and data, which is of an extent and level appropriate to this stage.
