(1) To understand in a systematic manner the concepts of wireless technologies and their applications in the healthcare sector (2) To acquire comprehensive knowledge and skills required to apply wireless technologies suitable for various healthcare applications(3) To reinforce the theoretical knowledge with practical experience of computer, wireless networks and wireless sensor technologies, including RFID (4) To enhance understanding of measuring and analysing techniques of blood pressure and heart rate using wireless connections and data management.

Learning Teaching & Assessment Strategy:
This module will be delivered through a combination of lectures and practical lab sessions. Concepts, principles & theories are explored in formal lectures and reinforced through hands-on demonstrations. On-line MCQ assessment structured to reflect a Master Degree standard will be used for final evaluation.

1) Wireless Sensor Platform: definition, application, components, design, development, microcontrollers, microprocessors, programming logic devices, device level programming languages (2) RFID Tags and Readers (3) Wireless healthcare in Practice: Measuring heart rate and blood pressure.
